Disney on Ice

We got tickets to see Disney on Ice at Rupp arena. Ryan took the day off work and the three of us headed out. (Only one of us chose to dress up for the event.)

We bought some cotton candy with at crown at the show. It was definitely the highlight of the wait time before the show started.

Showtime! Disney does a pretty good show.  One of the fun things was the use of overhead wires for "floating through the air" effects.

Rachael's favorite: Sleeping Beauty

One of my favorite effects: blacklights for the Little Mermaid dance sequence

My favorite dance sequence: the seven dwarfs

Entertainment where you least expected it: Anastasia and Drizella.  They were funny!  Lots of planned falls, which must be a lot harder than it appears. And lots of pushing and shoving, always funny on ice.

When I asked Rachael what her favorite part was, she said, "At the end, when all the princes and princesses are wearing white and gold and they all get married."

Rachael spent the entire show perched on the edge of her seat.  It was so much fun!
She wants to go to Disney on Ice every time it comes to Lexington.

Catch Up

Just because we haven't been blogging doesn't mean we haven't been busy!  Here's the latest...

We celebrated Pi Day in fine fashion - although we actually had to celebrate on the 15th because I had about six hours of meetings on the 14th.   Rachael and I made a blackberry pie with a lattice top.

Love the pi!

We celebrated St Patrick's Day - hooray! We all wore shirts with green.  Rachael and I made rainbow toast for breakfast.

We also had our first fishing trip of the year over at the lake.  Rachael is getting quite good at casting.

Daddy is still the best at catching fish.

Rachael is working on some new skills this spring: twisting the swings...

... and riding her tricycle.
Now you are all caught up!

What's a Walker?

As we were driving around a parking lot today Rachael asked what the parking spaces with wheelchairs painted in them were.  Kristin explained that these are for people who may have difficulty walking.  Rachael asked for further detail - Kristin explained it may be people in a wheelchair, or who need a walker.

What is a walker asked Rachael.

It is something that some people use to help them walk replied Kristin.

Oh.  And there are Walkers in Star Wars too - they are very big responded Rachael.

That's my girl!

Apologies and Birthdays

While Rachael and I were in Pennsylvania last week, we knew we would be missing both Grandpa & Braden's birthdays.  I put both birthdays on my ecalendar so we could still call and wish them happy birthday, but in my haste, I put them on the wrong days.  So on Braden's birthday, we called to sing to Grandpa.  On Grandpa's birthday we didn't call either of them because we spent the whole day in the car.  On Saturday I realized my mistake, but since we still had not sung to Braden, we called anyway.

Sorry boys! We love you both and we hope you had fun celebrating.

Gifts are in the mail.

Visting the cousins

Last week Rachael and I went to spend some time at Lesley's house with her girls (and Nana!) while Lesley and her husband took a business trip/vacation to Hawaii.

We enjoyed smiles from Kira...

And rode the rocking horse with Kaelyn...

Jumped on the trampoline...

Until our hair was standing up!

Made some yummy cupcakes...

Danced the hula...

And played the ukelele.

And couldn't get enough of these dimples!

We also had lots of chocolate ice cream, played outside, played with foam stickers, and stayed up late (on non-school nights).  Lots of exhausting, giggly fun!  We can't wait to go back.
