One of our traditions - patriotic toes.
Richmond planned all their activities for Sunday July 4th, so we went to the parade in Lexington on Saturday. Mostly it was a lot of music, food, and of course beer, but we did manage to find a kids area set up with some inflatables. Many thanks to the random person that handed over four tickets they weren't going to use.
Inflatable obstacle course. Way fun.
Inflatable slide with a strange sled.
The weirdest marching band we have ever seen. Which included an accordian.
Family self-portrait. Notice the monkey giving both her parents bunny ears.
On the Fourth, we decided we needed some patriotic treats.
These cupcakes are layered with blue, white and pink. (Next time: more food color).
And frosted with blue frosting.
We did go over to a nearby store that has a great view of the fireworks from the parking lot.
(Well, except for perhaps the telephone pole right in the middle of the picture).
So much fun!
